Mayor Michael Victorino announced today that Maui County will assist the State Department of Health in distributing COVID-19 home self-test kits from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1, at the War Memorial Stadium parking lot in Wailuku. Test kits are also being distributed to nonprofit partners and to remote communities in Hana, Molokai and Lanai.
Entrance to the War Memorial Stadium parking lot will be via Kanaloa Avenue near the Ichiro “Iron” Maehara Baseball Stadium. Lunalilo and Liholiho streets will be restricted to residential traffic only during the test kit distribution.
This distribution is drive-through only. Walk-ups are not allowed. To AlohaClear testing at the stadium, please do not line up early in vehicles. Wearing of facial coverings is required when approaching distribution tents.
Six test kits will be distributed per vehicle. Each test kit contains one test. The self-test kits are antigen home tests, with results available in 15 minutes.
“We are pleased to partner with the State Department of Health in helping with the distribution of these test kits,” Mayor Victorino said. “We hope to provide for residents who are displaying COVID-19 symptoms and are unable to go to a test site. In using the self-test kit, if the result is positive, you should contact your primary care physician and isolate.”
