The Maui County Planning Department announced today that it will hold two virtual town halls as part of the South Maui Community Plan update process. Event details are as follows:
Public Facilities Town Hall
Thursday, Oct. 28, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

South Maui is made up of multiple communities, but County facilities and systems tie all of them together. Panelists at this town hall are senior County staff in the facilities and systems that make South Maui work: drainage, solid waste, parks, police and fire.
Panelists at the Public Facilities Town Hall will include representatives from Maui County departments of Police, Fire, Parks and Recreation, Environmental Management, Public Works, and staff from Maui Environmental Consulting.
Water and Wastewater Town Hall
Thursday, Nov. 4, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Water and wastewater are two of the most discussed infrastructure systems in South Maui. Water availability can limit or encourage growth, while wastewater constantly adjusts to meet the needs of the South Maui community. Panelists at this town hall are senior County staff in South Maui's water and wastewater systems.
Panelists at the Water and Wastewater Town Hall will include representatives from Maui County departments of Water Supply and Environmental Management.
The town halls are an opportunity to learn more about public facilities: how they support the South Maui community, and strategies to deal with current deficiencies and future needs that could be included in the South Maui Community Plan.
Both town halls will be held on the BlueJeans videoconferencing platform. A BlueJeans account is not required to participate in the meeting. The public will be given the opportunity to ask panelists questions at the conclusion of all presentations. A recording of each town hall will be posted the following day to the We Are South Maui website – southmaui.wearemaui.org
