Mayor Victorino offers sneak peak of Gov. Ige's Tuesday press conference

Mayor Michael Victorino recommends Maui County residents watch Governor David Ige’s press conference at 1:30 pm, tomorrow, May 25 to learn about imminent changes to state emergency rules related to youth ocean sports and mask-wearing.

“As Hawaii’s vaccination rates go up and new COVID cases come down, we can take another step forward on our road to recovery,” said Mayor Victorino. “I want to thank the governor and his team for working so closely with all county mayors to ensure that statewide changes consider the different needs of each island community. Our full recovery from this pandemic requires vigilance and patience, but we are heading in the right direction thanks to those who have been vaccinated.”

Governor Ige’s press conference tomorrow will include participation by Lieutenant Governor Josh Green, state health director Dr. Libby Char, and the mayors of the state’s counties.
