Maui County to move forward with Winter/Spring 2021 season permits

The County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation is preparing for a modified Tri-Annual Permit Process for the Winter/Spring 2021 season for all leagues and recreational programs occurring during the period of January 1 – April 15, 2021.

The department would like to remind facility users of the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to COVID-19 modifications, applications will be accepted for pools, fields, and tennis courts only. Availability is limited due to modified operations. We will not be accepting stadium or gymnasium applications at this time.

While we are proceeding with facility use applications, all permits issued will be subject to the current CDC guidelines and Public Health Emergency Rules that are in place at that time. Should there be a rise in COVID-19 cases, permits will be canceled. Permits may also be modified or rescinded when necessary to comply with current health standards.

To reduce person-to-person contact and delays in processing times, the department will accept application requests via email only. Applications must be complete to be processed. Complete applications will be accepted from Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, until 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 2020. Email applications to

If assistance is required, please schedule an appointment to submit an application by calling (808) 270-7389. Appointments will be very limited and should happen by Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020.

All those seeking to use available facilities for recreational use during the Winter/Spring 2021 season for the period of Jan. 1, 2021, to April 15, 2021, should apply. Any applications not received by the department via email by 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30, 2020, will not be considered. The department is not accepting walk-in applications for recreational use.

Application request packets will be available by request via email, and on the County of Maui website at
