Masks delivered to Molokai healthcare workers and first responders; COVID-19 testing postponed

Mayor Michael Victorino provided 1,000 facemasks to Molokai healthcare workers and first responders.

Five hundred masks were delivered to Molokai General Hospital, 250 masks were delivered to police officers and 250 masks were delivered to American Medical Response.

Meanwhile, drive-through COVID-19 testing on Molokai was postponed today because of concern about severe rain and thunderstorms on Oahu. Dr. Scott Miscovich of Premier Medical Group is hopeful his team can continue COVID-19 testing on Molokai on Thursday, April 16.

“These masks are important to safeguard our frontline healthcare and first responder heroes,” Mayor Michael Victorino said. “I’m hopeful that Dr. Scott Miscovich and his team can return to Molokai later this week and provide further assistance through testing.”

Previously, Miscovich’s team administered drive-through testing for about 400 Molokai residents on April 7.
