Ocean Junior Lifeguard Program

Overview


The one week Ocean Junior Lifeguard program was designed to train boys and girls ages 8 to 17 in lifesaving water skills and to develop an awareness of beach hazards and ocean conditions.

Participants will become familiar with First Aid and CPR techniques, while improving their health and fitness. Beach programs will be offered on Maui, Lanai and Molokai

Goals and Objectives


  • Develop an awareness of beach hazards and conditions
  • Provide training in Ocean Safety and rescue skills
  • Develop a knowledge of First Aid and CPR techniques
  • Improve health and fitness of youth
  • Teach team work and good sportsmanship
  • Help develop and train future lifeguards

Registration Information

Cancelled - Registration starts on February 28th, 2020 and ends on April 30th, 2020.  Please click on "2020 Junior Lifeguard Registration", read all information thoroughly, attach all required documents, complete all forms and return by April 30th, 2020. - Cancelled

COVID-19 Precautionary Measures

Aloha All, 

Thank you for your interest in our Junior Lifeguard Program. Because COVID-19 is an emerging, rapidly evolving situation, we are canceling our 2020 Maui County Junior Lifeguard Program. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by the virus and I want you to know that my priority at this time is the health and safety of our keiki, staff and community. This program is amazing and such a bummer to cancel . However, here on Maui, ALL of our community events have been postponed for obvious reasons. I look forward to our program next year and with this being said, please don’t forget to register your child/children starting in February thru April, 2021.
