Wastewater Permits & Applications

Wastewater Discharge License (WWLFE, WWLFT, WWLI, etc...)
All significant industrial (non-domestic) users who discharge wastewater that is processed at the County of Maui's Wastewater Treatment facilities are required to obtain a Wastewater Discharge license. There are six types of dischargers defined in the Maui County Code, Chapter 14.21A.105. Issuing agency is the Department of Environmental Management, Wastewater Division.

Wastewater Discharge License Hauler (WWLH)
All liquid waste haulers who discharge wastewater into the County of Maui's wastewater collection or treatment facilities are required to obtain a Wastewater Hauler license. This type of license is described in the Maui County Code, Chapter 14.21A.105. Issuing agency is the Department of Environmental Management, Wastewater Division.

Recycled Water Use Permit (WWR)
All users of recycled water must submit an application (RW-1) and detailed plans for review and approval, undergo training, pay a connection fee and pass system inspections prior to receiving a use permit.
Temporary Recycled Water Use Permit (WWRT)
All temporary users of recycled water (dust control, construction water etc.) must submit an application (RW-1) and detailed plans for review and approval, undergo training and pass system inspection prior to receiving a temporary use permit.
