Purpose:
A Change of Zoning (CIZ) may be required when property is proposed to be used in a manner not allowed under the current zoning of that land. A Change of Zoning must be in conformance with the State Land Use District and Community Plan for the region.
How To Apply:
Complete the
Change of Zoning application packet and submit it to the
Department of Planning.
A fully processed Zoning & Flood Confirmation Form must be attached to the CIZ application. Begin the CIZ application process by filling in the project identification portion of the form and submitting it to the Zoning Administration and Enforcement Division at One Main Plaza Suite 335. The zoning and flood designations are confirmed and then returned to the applicant for inclusion in the CIZ packet.
Approving Agencies:
A Change of Zoning is processed through the appropriate Planning Commission and adopted through ordinance by the
Maui County Council and Mayor.

Fees:
Non-refundable filing fee (see
Fee Schedule, Table A) payable to "
County of Maui, Director of Finance".
